Rotary International’s Interact Club for Youth

Around for more than one hundred years, Rotary International has done its best to bring people together, an effort to spread goodwill and peace throughout the world. Though this organization is officially only for business and professional leaders that are 18 and older, there are programs associated with Rotary that slightly bend the rules, allowing more people to become involved.

Gene Rinderknecht

Interact is the Rotary International service club for young people between 12 and 18 years of age. These self-governing and self-supporting clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary Clubs. Often found on high school campuses, Interact clubs take different shapes and sizes. Whether they are from one school or from a district of schools, the focus remains to benefit the community of the members.

Every year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects. Through these projects, the Interact members, called “Interactors,” develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs. The Interact clubs teach leadership skills, integrity, helpfulness, the value of hard work, and an understanding of goodwill on an international level.

A part of the Rotary International organization for over thirty-five years, Gene Rinderknecht is well-informed of the Interact club and the other programs that the organization is associated. Today the Interact program was more than three hundred thousand youth involved in more than thirty-three thousand clubs worldwide. The Interact program has grown to become one of the most significant and fastest growing programs of the Rotary International organization.

Membership in Rotary International Organization

According to their self-imposed charters, Rotary International defines itself as a non-partisan and non-sectarian organization. The organization remains open to business and professional leaders aged 18 and older. Without regard to economic status, Rotary International is a club that allows any person who meets their standards into the organization without care for the person’s race color, ethnicity, culture, religion, or belief system.

Gene Rinderknecht

To join a Rotary club, one only needs to be invited. The only way that a person can join a Rotary club is if they receive an invitation from a Rotarian. Rotary International members are required to have a sponsor who is also an existing Rotarian, which thus helps to expand the organization through personal connections. One of the jobs of an active member of the club is to promote service to the community they live and work in, as well as to the world, thus bringing in new people is a part of their job with the organization. The majority of projects organized for a neighborhood are promoted by a singular club. However, there have been many projects that have been organized globally.

There are plenty of honorary memberships in the Rotary International organization. Many of the recipients of an honorary membership to the club were notable personalities, including current or former heads of state, scientists, famous people, military, and persons of entertainment.

Gene Rinderknecht was a member of Rotary International for 36 years. Throughout those years, Rinderknecht was able to serve as President of two locations. It is through the donation of time and resources of men like Rinderknecht that Rotary International has been able to continue their service efforts throughout the world.

The History of Rotary International

The Rotary Club was formed on February 23, 1905. Attorney Paul P. Harris called together a meeting of three business acquaintances in Chicago, IL. The name Rotarians comes from their process of meeting. The location of each meeting rotated between the offices of the personnel in attendance. This small group quickly grew and by the end of the year, they were too large to continue to meet in the smaller offices. Thus began to meet regularly in a central location.

The next Rotary Clubs to sprout up were in major cities of the West Coast state of California. San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles were the first to come along, followed closely by one in Seattle, Washington. In 1910, five years after the first club had started, the National Association of Rotary Clubs in America was formed to unite all of the clubs together. Later in that year, the first Rotary Club was established outside of the United States. Rotary Clubs started in Winnipeg and Manitoba, Canada. The following year of 1911, a Rotary Club would be established in Dublin, Ireland. In order to show the unity of all the clubs, the organization’s name was changed to the International Association of Rotary Clubs.

During World War I, the Rotary organization grew to a total of 22 clubs. With more and more clubs popping up outside of North America, it was time for another name change. The organization became Rotary International in 1922, and they continue to run under this name. Proudly, the service-oriented club grew to more than 200 clubs with well over twenty thousand members worldwide by the time of their new name change.

A part of the organization for almost forty years, Gene Rinderknecht is happy to have made a difference with the international club. As a Rotarian, Rinderknecht knows that he was able to make a huge difference in the community and worldwide.

Stories to Look Forward to in College Football

With the first season of college football that has featured a playoff now in the books, fans have been patiently waiting for the next season to come along. Now within a few days of a new season starting off, there are a couple stories that many are waiting to see play out.

Ohio State: The Quest for another Championship

Many believe that Ohio State has what it takes to win it all in back to back years. Despite being predicted to win, no one knows who the starting quarterback of the team will be. Ohio State has a really good problem in having three good players at the QB position: Cardale Jones, J. T. Barrett, and Braxton Miller. All are quality players who can start for the team, but in the end, two of those players will be riding the bench.

Which Conference Gets Left Out?

Last year, the Big 12 was omitted from the College Football Playoff. The feeling of missing out on the final four of college basketball is now the same feeling that many colleges, and their fans, will feel about football. Baylor and TCU, both of the Big 12 conference, were two of the best teams in the country, and were left out of the playoffs, which only allows four teams to play.

Perhaps, you can guarantee that the teams in this conference do not want to be left out again.
Gene Rinderknecht looks forward to the upcoming season of college football. As a fan of the sport, there are few things that Rinderknecht loves to cheer on more than the collegiate students who play American Football.

The Many Types of Doctorate Careers

Medical careers are some of the hardest positions to earn in the workforce, but come with the prestige as a highly educated and extremely devoted individual. Doctoral careers take time to develop, and the precision required to create a very healthy medical industry leaves the barrier to entry almost impossibly high. But for those who succeed at reaching the top, there are many different medical careers to enter into.

Gene Rinderknecht

A broader spectrum of the medical industry includes general physicians, and practicing pediatricians for children. These careers require no specialization in any particular medical field, but rather an average and acute understanding of everything that regularly becomes problematic in the human body. From there, experts can branch into a specialist practice, such as a doctor focusing on heart care, spinal care, or in some instances specific disease specializations, like cancer.

Beyond that of human doctors, veterinarians are also recognized as a very popular direction for those wishing to enter a doctoral field. Taking care of animals requires a different mindset that goes beyond that of what human doctors produce. Gene Rinderknecht has spent 43 years of his life as a veterinarian, and admits that the two worlds between animal doctors and human doctors are almost entirely separate. “Commonalities keep us together,” he explains, “but overall, the differences that animals bring to us makes veterinarians a different breed entirely.”

Being an Industry-Versatile Leader

The industries that are scattered across the business world have grown more complex than ever before. Businesses are no longer scalable by a small group of people, but take an entire corporation of shareholders to run the operations and grow the business. Likewise, industries take many different diverse areas of expertise in order to create businesses that can successfully compete with one another. As the barrier of entry to an industry rises, the need for industry players to be versatile is becoming a crucial part of the success of the industry’s growth.

Taking advantage of an industry’s needs will make a career accelerate as the industry develops. No longer can an employee depend on the expertise of a specific skillset. Instead, employers are looking for devoted individuals that can extend themselves into different diverse areas of the company’s operations, and create a versatile summary that will allow the business to mold with the growth of the rest of the industry.

In one industry, a man with over 43 years of industry experience has been spreading himself thin to adjust the needs of the industry. Gene Rinderknecht, a relief veterinarian, has gone through many different animal care specializations, from private care, small animal, and neuter clinics, to owning and operating an animal care hospital in Newton, Iowa. This is the type of flexibility that industries in today’s society require of professionals looking to build their career.

Improving the World

Partners for World Health is an American non-profit organization that is committed to reducing the amount of medical waste while at the same time improving global health. Partners for World Health runs a medical mission program that gives doctors, nurses, and other professionals the chance to volunteer their skills in developing countries, with the goal of having a positive impact on the environment, to bring awareness to the level of surplus of medical supplies that often ends up discarded, and providing people with access to urgently needed health care to the poorest of the poor in the developing world. The average life expectancy globally is seventy years for a baby born in 2012: sixty-two years in low-income countries and seventy-nine years in high-income countries. The mission of Partners for World Health Care is to develop strategies and partnerships that ensure that unopened medical supplies are instead recycled and put to good use.

According to the World Health Organization, the general state of the global health landscape is improving and looks better than ever before. They serve primarily in Southeast Asia and Africa, countries that often do not have access to the modern medicine that places like America do. These countries simply need a helping hand during a time of turmoil. With a large population and fragmented government control, Africa in particular suffers much in the way of modern medicine. The World Health Organization is dedicated to giving citizens of Africa a fighting chance to improve the world.

Gene Rinderknecht is dedicated to causes like those of the PWH and hopes that soon others will be equally dedicated to such great causes.

Strife of the Homeless

Of those who were in emergency shelters, seventy percent were single adults and twenty-nine percent were part of a family, while one percent were unaccompanied minors. On a survey of twenty-three cities, conducted by the U.S. People are often turned away from shelters because they fill up so quickly. In spite of what any statistics says, there is no denying that homelessness is a serious social problem, not just in the United States but all over the world. Giving back to others is one of the most important things you can do as a person. The very nature of being without a fixed address makes an accurate headcount all but impossible, and experts say that the very question of how many people are homeless is a misleading one.

Experts at the National Coalition for the Homeless say that in most cases, homelessness is a temporary condition, not a permanent one, and so the numbers constantly fluctuate. Four percent were part of a homeless family, and two percent were unaccompanied minors. Conference of Mayors, ninety-four percent of people living on the street were single adults. Our own expert has been a volunteer at the Saint Laurence Chapel Homeless Shelter, and a volunteer at the Broward County Outreach Center, where homeless people receive help and hope in a non-judgmental environment. They say that a much better indicator of the size of the problem is the number of people who experience homelessness at one time or another. Most studies of the homeless population are limited to counting how many people are staying in homeless shelters, or can be counted as they live on the streets, according to the Coalition.

Gene Rinderknecht is a veterinarian and humanitarian who works through his church and local soup kitchen to give a helping hand to the homeless.

Gene Rinderknecht - Adhere to Principles

People throughout the ages have been constructing a moral fiber, whether it be guided by outside hands such as the Bible, or by their own efforts such as law and other societal means. The key element here is that no matter what part of human history you look at, there is always a society that is adhering to some set of standards and rules that create a kind of government and civility, something that gets us out of the primal state.

The reason for this is not just because it is necessary for human survival, but because we are engineered to have a grander sense of purpose, some kind of vague goal built in us by god to show us purpose. This purpose is principle, such as the urge to help those in need or that are less fortunate than yourself. This is why people naturally frown upon things like stealing or cheating on a spouse.

Gene Rinderknecht

To have a moral code is to be human, to have integrity and a reliable relationship with the world around you is what gives the world stability. As a collective we have to stick to these principles and moral guidelines in order to progress to a brighter future and fulfill the greatest parts of human potential. This is something that can only be achieved by caring for one another, being an altruistic neighbor or a caring friend. Dare to extend a helping hand to the world around you, plant a tree or grow a garden, work at a local soup kitchen or food drive. Together, we can all make a difference.

Gene Rinderknecht is a seasoned veterinarian who has strong principles and operates with a level of integrity that people respect and admire. This integrity is what has been the hallmark of his career and the reason that his clients trust him with their animals.
